Wild Week

Well, talk about a pretty crazy week. To start off with, I started physical therapy. It's been both a good experience and a bad experience, if there is such thing as both. The good part of it is that I get to walk around in a swimming pool and I don't have to wear my boot! The bad part is that it hurts! It does not feel good to have a foot filled with screws pulled and twisted around. I guess it'll be good in the long run though. This week, I'm really supposed to be walking around without crutches, but it's not as easy as it seems, plus, again, it doesn't feel good. It's really hard to take myself off crutches and trust putting all of my weight on my foot. Hopefully I'll get without crutches soon. I've been practicing and I think I've pretty much discovered that I forgot how to walk on my foot.

Jace has had a very exciting and hard week. All I can say is that teething is no fun! He's now up to 5 1/2 teeth. I know you wonder about the half, but the 6th tooth is really causing him trouble. He's got a big red swollen bulge in his mouth where that tooth is trying to push through. I'll be relieved once it does finally push through as I'm sure he will as well. For the past 3 days, it's been causing Jace to fever and fussiness and all that fun stuff that comes along with getting teeth. Part of me thinks it's more than teething though. He's been getting fevers about 100 degrees and he hasn't slept well. When he does go to sleep, he wakes up after only a couple minutes and cries again. He got invited to his first Birthday party today that we had to miss because he's been sick.

On the other side of the bad, one great thing finally happened! Jace finally has become very mobile. Yesterday we were at my mother-in-law's and I put something in front of Jace and he figured out how to get himself to it. He's scooting! He's not really crawling because he doesn't know how to use his arms, but he sure is using his knees and feet to move himself. I'm very excited that he can move around the room now, but now that he's learned it, he moves around the room constantly. Me and my broken foot are having a hard time keeping up with him.

A lot of good things happening this week....teeth, crawling/scooting, the use of my foot. And I'm sure it will only get better in the following weeks.

Big boy!

This is my first day home alone with Jace in 2 months. I'm just sitting here looking at him and enjoying every little bit of him. He is such a growing boy and I can't believe how big he's getting. I don't have any pics of everything Jace does, but he sure is changing this past little bit. He turns 9 months old this week and I just can't believe how the time flies.

He's discovered he can do so many things lately. The one thing that I wish and don't wish that he would learn is how to crawl. He's getting very close. He likes to roll over onto his stomach, but once he gets there, he just flings his legs and arms around like crazy and then gets sick of being there and gets mad. You can tell he wants to go for things, but he just can't quite figure it out. He can turn himself on his stomach, but he won't go forward.

Lately, I've been going into Jace's room to find him sleeping on his stomach. That's a very new thing because he usually doesn't enjoy his somach. One thing that I absolutely hate about him sleeping on his stomach is that he always wets his diaper so so much, so it usually goes out the front of him all over the front of his clothes and on his crib sheets and blanket. I find myself changing his sheets on a daily basis. The diaper problem is difficult because he's kind of in between diaper sizes. His size 2's seem to fit, but they don't hold all of his wetness in, but a size 3 seems way too big still for him. Maybe I just need to change diaper brands?

Jace loves to grab at anything that mommy or daddy eats, plays with, or just has. The whole time I've been typing this, Jace has been pulling himself to the computer like he's trying to put his little bit of input in. If we're on the phone, he steals it and puts it in his mouth. If we're eating, he steals bits of it and puts it in his mouth. He takes the remote when we're not looking and pushes buttons like crazy.

I just love everything that Jace does. He's discovered that he can growl. He also enjoys vibrating his lips together, mostly when he's upset. He pulls on things to get him to his knees and occasionally his feet (maybe he'll walk before he crawls). My favorite thing that he's learned to do is shake his head no. All we have to do is say "No, no" and he shakes his head no like crazy. He's also discovered he can throw tantrums (which I hate) to get what he wants.

I know my baby is no more fascinating than any other, but he sure does fascinate me. He's such a joy to watch and have around. He does nothing but make me smile and laugh. I'm so greatful to be a mom to a beautiful little boy. There's not a thing I would change about him. He's such a blessing in my life.

A Big Thanks

I haven't had much to post about lately, so I just wanted to take time to thank my husband for everything he's done for me. As many of you know, I broke my foot pretty bad back in May and had to have surgery on it. It's been so difficult these past 2 months caring for a baby and getting things done having the use of only 1 foot. I just needed to let Lance know how much I greatly appreciate him for stepping up to the plate and helping take care of Jace and getting things done around the house that I would normally do. I could have never gotten through these past 2 months without his help. I know it's been hard for him taking care of a wife and baby, but he's really stepped up and really helped out.

Lance, you really are my sweetheart and I love you so much. I don't know what or where I would be in this world without you.

Top Reasons of why I love Lance:

1. He helps out around the house

2. He's a wonderful father

3. He's a wonderful husband

4. He's smart

5. When I feel stressed or worried, he's quick to remind me that everything will be okay

6. He holds strong to his priesthood

7. He loves his family

8. Hard worker

9. He's very sweet and caring

10. He's a great listener
The list could continue on and on, but it needs to stop somewhere. Lance, thanks for being the person that you are. I love you so much and appreciate everything you do for me.

Rowley Look-alike Meter

Okay, so I'm pretty sure this look-a-like meter doesn't work because everyone know that Jace looks more like his mommy than his daddy!
