Utah State Fair

I've been wanting to blog about the fair for awhile, but I didn't have any pictures to go along with it until now. My camera was broken, so I had to wait until I could get pictures from my friend, Sarah, that went with us the fair. We went to the fair on the 14th, which was a Monday. Sarah and her husband Noah, and kids both came with me and Jace. Lance had to work, so he wasn't able to come. Anyways, when we got to the fair, we decided to just price the kids rides because we thought it would be fun to take the kids on a few rides. We found out the unlimited ride wristbands were buy 1 get 1 free. So, Sarah, Jace, Dagny, and I all got one. Jace loved it. I'm not so sure about Dagny though. She covered her eyes for most of the rides.

Here we are waiting in line for the carousel. I was very excited to take Jace on it. I just thought he would love it and he did. We didn't get any pictures on the carousel though because Sarah took the camera on the ride with her and it's hard, as you can imagine, to take pictures while you're trying to hold your child on.

The big yellow slide cost money, but luckily, they had a miniature one for the kids that was free with our wristbands. It was scary getting to the top. I can't even imagine hiking to the top of the yellow one. It was very hard getting onto the slide without your bag falling down ahead of you and then getting Jace onto my lap.

Here was our first ride down. Jace didn't like it so much the first trip down. I think it was a little scary for him.

The second ride down was lot more fun for him. Not Dagny so much. She covered her eyes on just about every ride we went on.

When we got to the bottom, we always would go past the slide and our butts would hit the hard ground.

Here's Sarah and Dagny riding the roller coaster. There wasn't room for me and Jace, so we had to wait for the next ride.

Jace absolutely loved the roller coaster. He let me hold his hands up in the air and everything. I've never heard him laugh so hard in my life.

I didn't like this ride. All it did was bump up and down and go in a circle. Jace didn't care for it as much either. I think he liked the excitement of the other rides a lot more. This ride kind of made me a little motion sick after awhile.

Here's Dagny in one of the buildings. She leaked through her diaper and had wet pants. Luckily, I took an extra pair of Jace's, so that's what she got to wear. You'd never know these were boy overalls, would you?

Sarah and I decided to be adventurous and go on the mini rocket. We were scared out of our minds going up on this ride and then waiting for it to drop us. I'm a big wimp.

We were very happy when the ride was over though.

Thanks Sarah, Noah, and Dagny (and Sunny, of course), for coming with us to the fair this year. It was so much fun! Even though it rained like crazy. It made it all the more fun being there. Let's make it tradition and go every year!

Goooooooo Cougars!

So, yesterday, my dad gave me and Lance his tickets for the BYU game. My dad gets season tickets every year. He usually takes my brother or Lance to the game. Yesterday, however, he had to work so he gave me and Lance his tickets. It was pretty exciting because Lance and I have always said we'd like to go to a game together. We've just never got to since there's always only 1 ticket for another person. So, anyways, we dropped Jace off at my mom's and me and Lance were able to go out on a date and have some fun!

On our way to the game!

Yay! We made it there right at kickoff.

After the first touchdown. Go cougars!

Notice the change of shirts. At halftime, we decided to go to the Cougar den and just see if they had any good prices on shirts. We found a nice 50% off rack and decided to buy ourselves a new shirt since neither of us were in BYU attire.

And here are our happy faces of beating the traffic on the way home. We left after BYU scored the 2nd to last touchdown. By then, we knew we had this game beat.

Yeah,I know every picture is the same...self portrait. It was a fun game though and a fun night away from Jace. Thanks dad for the tickets!

Yum!

So, for my Birthday, I got a new camera. I hadn't gotten a chance to play around with it much and test it out, so I decided to take it out to Lance's mom's when I went to pick up Jace from being babysat. Jace was eating spagghettio's and cookies for lunch, so I decided to catch some pictures of him. I know, I take a lot of high chair pictures, but it's about the only time I can get Jace to look at the camera. Jace hates getting his pictures taken, but I learned the trick to get him look and smile is the flash on the camera. I would just tell Jace to look at the light and he would smile. Some of the pictures are of him not very happy (because, like I said, he HATES getting pictures). But at the end, I had a pretty cute and happy boy.

Okay, so this first picture is of Jace playing with the peanuts in the box the camera came in. Of course, his eyes just have to be closed.

I had to test it out on the way home too and I just happened to catch a smiley boy.

Yummy! Loves spagghetio's!

Then, of course, got to have a cookie and juice in each hand.

This kid loves his cookies. You can just see the pure joy through his pretty blue eyes.

Look at that smile. Yes, he has chocolate all over his teeth. I learned that Jace likes to squint when he smiles really big.

Ahh...I love this kid! Just look how sweet he is.

I just can't get enough of him!

Talking Jace

I'm writing this post for my own journaling purposes. I haven't been very good about recording things down in my blog like I had intended to do when I started this blog. I'm just sitting here listening to Jace talk to me and I can't believe how much his speaking has improved just in the past little while. I know he doesn't speak as well as some 22 1/2 month olds, but that's okay. As long as I see improvement, then I'm happy. Anyways...here are some of the things Jace says now.

Dada
Mama
Moe - more
Bampa - grandpa
Gamma - grandma
Pom - Tom
Hello
Uh oh
Nye nye - night night
All gone
Hi
Dilla - Dillan
Binn - Brynn
eye
Baff - bath
Ga ga - cracker (but he uses it to refer to any food)
Say (he really likes to tell us to repeat things he says)
Wa Wa - Whitey
Seyna - See ya
Bum
Wuv woo - Love you
baa bee - baby
Boppy (what he refers his diapers to)
Womp Womp wah (just a fun sound, like when you lose on a game show)
Owww (like when you're hurt)
Dagna (his friend, Dagny)

Then, of course he says like animal sounds as well, his favorite being the duck, and he is also learning to put 2 words together like saying hi to someone and bye to someone. He can probably say a lot more than this. This is just a brief list.
