CRAFTS!

I've never considered myself a crafty person at all. I always said that I don't enjoy it and stuff like that. That's until I actually do it. Lately, I've done a lot of painting and crafty sort of things. Yesterday, I went to a Super Saturday in my mother-in-law's/sisters-in-laws ward (my mother-in-law and brother are in the same ward). My mother-in-law knew I liked some of the things they were doing this year, so she decided to give them to me as an early Birthday gift. Anyways...here are some of the cute things I was able to do yesterday.

I think these are so cute for the Fall. I'm so excited for the Fall season to come up so I can put them out to decorate! I didn't do the edging detail right, so the paint is a little heavy on the edges. Oh well...I like it anyways.

Then, I made this frame with our last name and when we were married. The lettering didn't come out completely straight on the glass. But it still looks pretty good.

This was my biggest project of the day and probably my favorite as well. It took so much time to trace letters, paint, cut out, glue, etc. to do this. It was so worth it though!

Here's a picture of the frame and family letters put together on the table. Can you tell I like black and red together?

These last 2 things were done a few weeks ago. But I wanted to show them off anyways because I'm pretty happy with myself.

This shelf, I found for really cheap at a thrift store. I bought it and sanded and painted it and I'm going to hang it up. I think I'm going to do another coat of paint because I keep finding all sorts of missed spots.

I really wish I could take credit for this project. My mother-in-law did this for me. We have a spot where we're going to hang up the shelf and this picture and since we did the shelf, we figured that it would be a good time to do the picture as well. My mother-in-law is really good at making flower pictures. She mostly does them that say like "love" or last names. She had a frame picked out specially for my house. I'm so excited to hang it up in our kitchen area and decorate!

I'm way excited to decorate with all these fun things I (and my mother-in-law) did for my house!

RIP Nikon

Today, there was a sad death in our family. My camera was sadly run over (I'm not sure if by me, or someone else). I took it outside because I had intended to take pictures of Jace out there. I also took the video camera out. I ended up only taking video of Jace rather than taking pictures. Anyways, since I didn't use the camera, I stuck it on the back of the Jeep. After I was done taking video, I also stuck that on the back of the Jeep. I pushed the video camera back behind the spare tire because I was concerned about it falling. Anyways, I suddenly remembered that I needed to return a movie that was actually due last night. So, without thinking, I stuck Jace in the carseat and started driving. As soon as I reached the end of the road, I realized both cameras were back there. So, I pulled over and jumped out. The video camera was still there, but the Nikon didn't make it. I hurried back down the street to see if I could see the camera in the road thinking by chance it might still be okay. Then, there it was. All broken apart. Luckily the memory card still seemed okay, so we didn't lose any pictures. Anyways, I called and broke the news to Lance. He told me I did it on purpose because I've wanted a new camera for some time. I've just never had a good excuse to get one. Well, my Birthday is coming up in less than a month and hopefully I'll be getting a new camera. I'm telling the truth....as much as I hated this camera, I DID NOT DO IT ON PURPOSE!!!

World Series

My dad has worked in baseball for some time now. He worked as an umpire for several years and loved it until his knees gave out on him. So, he had to quit and now he works as a commissioner for Babe Ruth baseball. Anyways, the Babe Ruth World Series is coming to Utah this year. On Saturday, they had a tailgate party out at the Murray baseball field to get ready for it. They had some things there like face painting, food, sno cones, and stuff. I decided to take Jace out there while Lance stayed home and caught up on sleep. It was pretty fun. Jace seemed to enjoy it.

We started out with face painting. Uncle Tom decided to try and hold Jace, but he just wasn't going to stand having stuff put on his face. They would put paint on and he would reach up and smear it off.

Then it was my turn to try and hold him, but by then, he was just too angry. I even tried doing the painting. There was no way he was going to get his face painted. At the end, we decided to try and stick a little tattoo on his arm. He screamed so much about it that it didn't work either. Oh well...at least we tried.

After all the torture of the paint, grandma came to the rescue with a sucker for Jace. That cheered him up. He was perfectly content sitting on Tom's lap eating his sucker. You can see the paint got smeared around his eyes and nose.

While we were sitting there on the grass, the Stingers (is that what they're called now, I can't keep them straight!) Bee came up and Jace was very quick to notice him. He got so excited to see this big bee come up to him and shake his hand. He was all smiles and just squeals of joy seeing him. It was the highlight of the day by far! I'm hoping that this means that he'll like other characters like Santa Claus again this year.

After seeing the pure joy of seeing the bee, we decided to take Jace to see the Little Caesar's man. He was just as excited to see him. He was pretty much dancing around seeing him!

At the end of the event, we were in the baseball bleachers and Jace was very mad because we wouldn't let him go out of our sight. So, we made him come up by us. The Stingers Bee noticed that Jace was upset and came back and cheered him up again. I know, you can't tell how excited he was in the pictures because he kept looking away, but you'll just have to take my word for it!

All in all, it was a good day. Thanks mom and dad for inviting us!

***********************Okay, I'm an idiot. My husband just pointed out to me that it says right on the Bee's shirt that they're the Bees. Not the Stingers.
