4th of July

Okay, so I know this is a little late, but it's Sunday, and frankly, there's not much to do on Sunday afternoons. Lance and Jace take their naps. Usually if I take a nap, then I can't sleep at night. So, here I am. Anyways...we had a lot of fun this past 4th of July. We decided to get up as usual and head over to the Tooele parade. We didn't get the breakfast they serve this year. Lance's mom came out to see the parade with us. Jace didn't care too much for anything besides the motorcycles that begin the parade. He didn't care about the candy or anything.

Doesn't he look just so happy to be there?

Right after the Tooele parade, we headed out to Magna for the Magna parade with my family. I've never gone to a parade with niece and nephew, so it was a lot of fun. There was also candy there. There weren't a lot of kids around us, so I took my niece and nephew out and showed them to yell for candy and then to hurry and pick it up. It was a lot of fun. It rained a couple of times during the parade, but it made it all the better!

After the Magna parade, we went back to Lance's mom's for a barbecue that night with his family. It was fun. His cousin came with her 1-month old baby, Gavin. It was so fun to hold a little baby again. It made me a little baby hungry. I was in charge of the dessert that night and I was very impressed with what I made!

Here's baby Gavin. He was so sweet and tiny. He didn't even weigh what Jace did at birth.

Check out this cake! It's so easy and the yummiest! It's just 1 white cake mix. Just bake it on a cookie sheet. Then, whip 1 pint of whipping cream. Set it aside. Then mix 2 packages of cream cheese and 4 cups of powdered sugar and fold in the whipped cream. Put it on the cake (after it's cooled!). Then, you can either use like pie topping/filling or I like to make the strawberry danish dessert and add fresh strawberries in. Obviously, on this cake, I used blueberry topping and then did the danish dessert/fresh strawberries. Usually, people make it as a Valentine's dessert, but I did my own thing and tried it as a 4th of July dessert and it was a hit! The whole thing was gobbled up!
