World Series

My dad has worked in baseball for some time now. He worked as an umpire for several years and loved it until his knees gave out on him. So, he had to quit and now he works as a commissioner for Babe Ruth baseball. Anyways, the Babe Ruth World Series is coming to Utah this year. On Saturday, they had a tailgate party out at the Murray baseball field to get ready for it. They had some things there like face painting, food, sno cones, and stuff. I decided to take Jace out there while Lance stayed home and caught up on sleep. It was pretty fun. Jace seemed to enjoy it.

We started out with face painting. Uncle Tom decided to try and hold Jace, but he just wasn't going to stand having stuff put on his face. They would put paint on and he would reach up and smear it off.

Then it was my turn to try and hold him, but by then, he was just too angry. I even tried doing the painting. There was no way he was going to get his face painted. At the end, we decided to try and stick a little tattoo on his arm. He screamed so much about it that it didn't work either. Oh well...at least we tried.

After all the torture of the paint, grandma came to the rescue with a sucker for Jace. That cheered him up. He was perfectly content sitting on Tom's lap eating his sucker. You can see the paint got smeared around his eyes and nose.

While we were sitting there on the grass, the Stingers (is that what they're called now, I can't keep them straight!) Bee came up and Jace was very quick to notice him. He got so excited to see this big bee come up to him and shake his hand. He was all smiles and just squeals of joy seeing him. It was the highlight of the day by far! I'm hoping that this means that he'll like other characters like Santa Claus again this year.

After seeing the pure joy of seeing the bee, we decided to take Jace to see the Little Caesar's man. He was just as excited to see him. He was pretty much dancing around seeing him!

At the end of the event, we were in the baseball bleachers and Jace was very mad because we wouldn't let him go out of our sight. So, we made him come up by us. The Stingers Bee noticed that Jace was upset and came back and cheered him up again. I know, you can't tell how excited he was in the pictures because he kept looking away, but you'll just have to take my word for it!

All in all, it was a good day. Thanks mom and dad for inviting us!

***********************Okay, I'm an idiot. My husband just pointed out to me that it says right on the Bee's shirt that they're the Bees. Not the Stingers.

I know if Dagny would have been there she would have been scared to death of the gigantic bee. Sounds like a great day!
