I'm a sucker!

I haven't blogged in a long time. I guess I feel guilty because I never take pictures anymore. I'm a horrible mom that doesn't take pictures of Jace very often anymore. I guess it's because I don't like our camera. It's very slow. It delays, so it never moves quick enough to catch the good photo moments. I told Lance I want a nicer camera because it'll convince me to take more pictures, but he's satisfied with what we have. I guess until I win the lottery or something big happens, I'll get by with what we have.
Not much has happened lately. Jace is walking better and better everyday. He's not looking so much like a chimp as he used to. Now, he's kind of turned into Frankenstein. He walks a lot with his arms out in front of him. I know he can walk very well, but he's just very cautious and doesn't like falling, so he will still get down and crawl a lot.

I'm hesitant, yet excited, to announce that we have a new addition to our family. We got a new puppy. I know...I'm nuts! With our bad luck with dogs, why did I give in and get another one? A couple weeks ago, Lance found some miniature schnauzers for sale in Erda, which is very close to Tooele. I saw the pictures and fell in love. I kept telling Lance that it was a terrible idea and he told me that we could just go look at them. Of course, looking at dogs just isn't looking. I always give in to taking one home with me. Just as I suspected, we went and looked, and I loved them! I'm a sucker! I always give in to Lance's ideas and then I end up doing something crazy. We didn't take it home that night because it was still young. It gave me a couple weeks to really decide "do I really want another dog?" The other day, I got a call that little Schroeder was ready to go home with me. So, I went and got him and I love him to death. He's still only 6 weeks old. Yeah, he's a youngun', but the owners thought it was better that he go to a new home soon. He's so sweet and cuddly. I picked the cuddliest dog they had and the one that seemed the least curious of them all. He's such a good puppy. He's really picking up on potty training I think pretty well. He's had his accidents in the house, but what puppy doesn't? Anytime we do take him out, he goes potty right away. The first night in his crate was what was to be expected. He cried all night. We put our other dog, Whitey, with him and I think it helped calm him down a little. Last night, we didn't get home until 1:30 in the morning, so we were all so exhausted that we put the puppy downstairs so if he cried, we wouldn't have to hear him. Does that make us mean parents? Anyways...I hope we have better luck with this pup. The holes in our fence are being filled this week so it will lessen the chances or something happening.

Schroeder really likes to use Whitey as a chew toy. Whitey just puts up with it, just like he does Jace climbing all over him.

He reminds me of stuffed animal when I look at him. He's very soft and furry. Jace would treat him like a stuffed animal if we would let him. He would squeeze him if he could.

Things are going well in the Rowley household though. We have a big superbowl party coming up at the beginning of February, so hopefully I'll be able to catch some pictures then and have something to post about.

He is such a cute dog! I would have been suckered in to getting him too :) Whitey is a good big brother!

I know what you mean about the camera being slow, when we went from film to digital I told Scott I needed a fast camera for when we have kids, and he got us a Nikon that takes 3 frames a second! Totally worth the investment

I still can't get over how adorable that puppy is! Lucky for me you get the dogs and I get to see them occasionally and not clean up all the puppy messes. Thanks for bringing him over the other night!

Oh my word. He is so cute. I'm jealous. I was going to tell you that you should read up about clicker training. It works pretty well and you can buy a clicker at petsmart. I had to crate train chip when I got him and he was 9 months. He cried a lot too but it's a necessary training. It only took a couple of nights and then he was fine. I had both my dogs sleep in their crates for about 9 months after I got them. Now I have beds on the floor and they just stay there all night without a peep.
